Rei was loved by lesbian Maki who is the the boss of vampires, that's why Rei was turned into a vampire. But Rei ran away from Maki and has survived by killing bad guys to suck their blood. Then Rei encounters Shin who is the elder brother of Misa who was Rei's junior fellow and was killed by Maki when Rei was captured by Maki. Shin is a vampire hunter because of the hatred against vampires since his younger sister Misa was killed by the vampire. So, since he is notified that Rei has become a vampire, develops a hatred of Rei. So, Rei is tortured by Shin using the crucifix. However, Maki appears in front of the two, and tells Shin the fact about Rei. In other words, Rei was turned into a vampire and Rei sucked Misa's blood, causing Misa's death.
